Let me be your voice this time !

Team Gunti did put a lot of effort into making it happen but unfortunately we couldn’t pull it off in 2022. There was a lot of learning this time and it will help to bring the better version of mine.

Thank you so much to each one of the residents of Clarington who believed in me. I will not let the guard down and will continue to serve the community in my personal capacity.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my friends who have supported me during one of the critical phases of my life. I know it has been a lot of work and you all have always exceeded the expectations and the efforts were commendable.

I will continue to put all my efforts to  win the confidence of those whom I couldn't  and will get ready for 2026(Mission 2026).

I wish good luck to all the winners tonight and hope they live up to the expectations of the families of Clarington.

Thank you again.

Pranay Gunti

About Me

I’m Pranay Gunti, running for the position of a school Trustee, Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board.

I live in Bowmanville with my wife Vijeta and two sons Karthikeyan & Shivansh.

An information technology professional with a  master's degree in computer applications, active member of cultural association, was a teacher in a private school and was a private tutor in India

Having landed as an immigrant, parent of two kids, an IT professional and living in Canada for 8+ years, I have experienced some gaps which can be filled in the current public education system.

Top 3 priorities are

1. Propose to design short-term programs to fill the gaps caused by pandemic

Programs like additional tutoring will help the children to fill the gaps by recruiting additional staff. We ran the schools during the pandemic which filled the time but couldn’t impart the knowledge due to several reasons. Today, many of the students are lacking in the basics. Need to focus on all the areas- Language, Math, Science, Arts and physical fitness.

2. Address issues of children with special needs

We need to recruit ECE’s on a large scale. Young children being at home during pandemic couldn’t progress enough in social, motor and adaptive skills. Currently there is only 1 ECE for almost 5 students.

3. Health and safety of staff and students –

On an average there are around 4-5k violence incidents being reported at schools every year. We need to design programs to root out the violence at schools without which we couldn’t make schools a safer place for students, teachers and workers.

There is a large influx of students to school this fall and there should be a standard set for cleanliness and hygiene. If we have one, we need not to ask for it. It becomes the responsibility.

Having experience in diverse areas, I can work with the board to bring innovative ideas to the table and will help to improve policies and programs.

Let me be your voice this time. I will walk an extra mile and put relentless efforts to better programs and policies. I will always use my discretion in collaboration with other board members to address the concerns and issues of the students and families of Clarington.

Finally, I request the citizens of Clarington to cast your esteemed vote to me as a school trustee.

Strong education system builds better communities, and better communities make a great nation.

Vote for a better future!

List of concerns and issues gathered during campaigning.

Majority of residents have expressed their satisfaction with the priorities I have on my agenda and below are other priorities from the residents.

  1. Build new schools in proportionate to the increase in population.

  2. Improve transportation – there are streets with poor public and school transport facilities.

  3. Conduct summer science camps for students to promote innovative thoughts.

  4. Before/After school programs for students.

  5. Enforce speed limits in the school vicinity – Speed breakers.

  6. Increase and improve Anti-bullying & Anti-racism programs and awareness.

Happy to announce that, in-person I have covered 2500+ families as part of a door-to-door campaign.

Approach was, on a selected street, knock on the door of those who are eligible to vote for English public school and wait for 30 seconds to see if the residents are willing to speak. If given an opportunity, I spoke with them and made note of issues and concerns. If I get elected, I will take issues and concerns to the board for discussion.

As Clarington is a vast region having 900+ streets, I decided to cover a set of streets from each community.

So far, I have completed campaigning on the streets below and the list continues to grow.
